We invite you to a lecture on Open Access and Open Science, featured by a presentation of the second issue of the OA-Journal On_Culture on “The Nonhuman”. The invited speaker, Dominik Scholl (Education, Science & Culture Advisor at Wikimedia Deutschland), will provide insights on Open Access, Open Science, and the Paradigm of Openness. His talk will be followed by an open discussion. The event is for free, no registration needed.

Abstract of the talk (in German):
Hinter Open Access steht die Forderung nach freiem Zugang zu wissenschaftlicher Literatur. Frei meint dabei frei von technischen und rechtlichen Barrieren, offen im Sinne der Open Definition geht darüber hinaus. Und so stellt sich die Frage, welcher Grad an Offenheit mit Open Access erreicht werden soll. Ein Blick über Open Access hinaus auf Open Science und andere Initiativen Freien Wissens wie Wikipedia und ihre Schwesterprojekte soll dazu anregen, über das Paradigma von Offenheit zu diskutieren.
